Winning the Reddit validation check

Your Reddit campaign does one core job: make more people know your brand exists.

That is brand awareness.

And unlike most marketing channels, you can watch it happen in real time with a free tool you already have.

Here is how.

HOW TO SEE IT GROWING

A 5-minute check you can do right now.

Open Google Search Console. If you do not have it set up, ask your dev team. It is free.

1

Click “Search Results” under Performance.

2

Click “+ New” then “Query containing” and type your brand name.

3

Set the date to “Last 3 months” and toggle on “Compare” to the previous 3 months.

What you are looking at:

The number labeled “Impressions” on your brand name queries. This is how many times someone typed your name into Google. Not a keyword. Not your category. Your name.

If that number is going up, your brand awareness is growing. More people heard your name this quarter than last quarter. They got curious. They went to Google and searched for you.

That is what our comments do. Someone reads a thread. Sees your brand mentioned by what looks like a real person giving real advice. Gets curious. Opens a new tab. Types your name into Google.

They searched for you. We did not chase them.

Now scroll down and look at the query list. With your brand filter still on, you will see the exact words people are typing. Here is what to look for:

Query PatternWhat It Tells You
[your brand]Pure awareness. They know your name.
[your brand] redditThey saw you on Reddit and want to find the thread.
[your brand] reviewThey are in buying mode. Researching you.
[your brand] pricingThey are ready to spend money.
[your brand] vs [competitor]You are in the consideration set. They are comparing.

What About Your Click-Through Rate?

Now look at your CTR (click-through rate) on those branded queries.

Above 40% means people see your name and click right away. That is not curiosity. That is trust. They already believe in you before they land on your site.

The Reddit comment did the pre-selling. Your site just needs to catch them.

Run this check once a month. Watch the trend line. Your branded impressions should climb over time because Reddit threads do not expire. The comments we placed last month are still working this month. And next month. And the month after that.

That is it. That is how you watch brand awareness grow in real time.

While your brand awareness grows, three other things are happening at the same time that you will not find in any dashboard.

BONUS EFFECT #1

You Are Becoming the AI Answer

Reddit is the single biggest source that AI tools pull from when they answer questions.

A Semrush study of 150,000 citations across 5,000 keywords found that Reddit makes up 40.1% of all citations in AI-generated answers. More than Wikipedia. More than news sites. More than any other source on the internet.

That means when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI Overview a question about your category, the answer is very likely coming from a Reddit thread.

If your brand is in those threads, you are the answer. If you are not, someone else is.

Every comment we place is source material that AI tools can pick up. Not just today. Months from now. A thread that goes live this week can show up in a ChatGPT answer next quarter. And the quarter after that.

The brands that are in Reddit threads right now are building a lead that will be very hard to close later. AI tools are learning who matters in your category. Your campaign is teaching them that you do.

BONUS EFFECT #2

You Are Winning Buyers You Never Knew You Were Losing

Here is the part almost nobody thinks about.

71% of people who discover a brand somewhere else go to Reddit to validate it before they buy. Not to browse. To decide. And 88% of those people made a purchase in the last year based on what they found on Reddit.

Think about what that means.

Someone sees your ad. Clicks to your site. Likes what they see. But before they pull out their credit card, they open a new tab and type “[your brand] reddit.” They want to know what real people think. Not your sales page. Not a testimonial you picked. Real people in real threads giving honest opinions.

If they find good things, they buy faster and spend more. Reddit's own research showed that buyers who use Reddit during their purchase journey make their final decision 9x faster and spend 15% more.

If they find nothing, they hesitate. If they find bad things, they leave. And you never know it happened. Your analytics show a click and a bounce. But the real decision happened on Reddit, in a tab you cannot track.

Your campaign is filling that gap right now. Every comment we place is not just driving new awareness. It is also catching the people who already know about you and need one more push to buy. We are covering both sides of the funnel at the same time.

Without a Reddit presence, there is a silent leak in your conversion rate that no amount of ad spend can fix. With one, you are winning deals at the exact moment they are decided.

BONUS EFFECT #3

Your Paid Ads Are Getting Smarter Without You Doing Anything

This one is invisible. But the math is real.

When someone searches your brand name after reading a Reddit thread, they land on your site with high intent. They are not a random cold click from an ad. They are a warm visitor who already knows who you are and chose to find you.

Your ad pixel sees that visitor. It learns from them. Over time, your pixel builds a profile of the kind of person who visits your site. If most of your traffic is cold clicks from ads, the pixel learns what cold clickers look like. If a steady flow of warm, high-intent visitors are landing from branded search, the pixel learns what buyers look like.

Better data going into the pixel means better people coming out of the pixel. Your targeting improves. Your cost per acquisition comes down. Your ads get more efficient. Not because you changed your ad strategy. Because the quality of traffic hitting your site got better.

You will never see a line item in your ad dashboard that says “Reddit made my ads smarter.” But it is happening every time a warm branded search visitor hits your site and your pixel takes notes.

Why This Compounds

Paid ads stop working the day you stop paying for them.

A Reddit thread does not stop. It gets indexed by Google. It gets picked up by AI tools. It gets found by a buyer who searches “[your category] reddit” six months from now.

Every month your campaign runs, the library of threads working for you gets bigger. The branded search volume grows. The AI citation count grows. The pixel data gets richer. The gap between you and a competitor who is not doing this gets wider.

This is not renting attention. This is building it. And it compounds.
